Some Bunny Loves You

Hello Folks!.... Well, I've not been around much lately as I have been busy making samples for Joanna Sheen's shows that were on Create and Craft this weekend.  Here's one I made for the latest 'Happy Hoppers' release.

I drew the carrot and cut it out on a double thickness of card, to create the shaped card blank.  I coloured the carrot with alcohol markers.  The cute bunny image is also coloured in with alcohol markers.  The letters are die cut Funky Foam and I finished the card off with a green tulle bow.
I'm hoping I'll have a bit more time to catch up with you in blogland.
Ciao for now!

Valentine's Card, stitching, embossing and ribbon Roses.

Hello folks!!  Wow what a busy start to 2012 I have had.  I'm in the midst of making my DT cards for Joanna sheen so this will have to be brief.  There is a great card challenge over on Scrapology - you have to 'Say it with Ribbons' and it's a 'Love is...' card.  Just in time for Valentine's Day.  The challenge is sponsored by Crafty Ribbons and the fab prize up for grabs is a set of 16 ribbons, like the ones used by the DT. Do hop over and be inspired by the wonderful DT creations.
I was lucky enough to be sent some gorgeous ribbon to use on my card.  A beautiful rich shade of red... which just screamed out ribbon roses to me.  I folded the ribbon over; stitched; slightly gathered; coiled and stitched in place x3 to create the 3 flowers.  I embossed the black cardstock with my Cuttlebug and lightly rubbed on some silver metallic rub. I matted it with some silver mirri paper onto a black card.
I used my WRMK Sew Easy kit and the 'love' pricking head  to prepare for my stitching.  Some lovely polka dot ribbon towards the bottom and the die cut sprigs and swirls to finish the card off.
I was so proud of my little card (very different to my usual style I'm sure you will agree) that I showed hubby  and told him it was his Valentine's card..... he promptly replied that it must be a Christmas Valentine's card.  I looked at him blankly...... then he pointed out it has no L....Doh!
Ciao for now!

Scrapology 'T- is for Texture'

Hello folks!  It was my sister's 49th birthday in September and another opportunity for the family to get together.  We happened to be wearing a right riot of colours and I thought it would be great fun to Scrap these shots.  Now, this month, over on Scrapology we're scraplifting a fun double layout by Stacey Hansen and the additional challenge is 'Texture'.  As the sketch includes 7 photos I thought it would be perfect for these.  There is a fabulous prize up for grabs and inspiration for all from the talented DT here.

Here's a closer look at the LHS.  Most of the products used are 'Vintage Blue' by WRMK.  I used a Martha Stewart border punch for the long edges on the centre strip.  On top of that I placed the pink flocked lace - gorgeous texture.  I made the photo mats from the Tim Holtz 'Kraft-Core' nostalgic collection cardstock.  I embossed the mats on my Cuttlebug and sanded the surface back to reveal some of the Kraft coloured core.
A closer look at the RHS.  I used my Nestabilities to cut the circles, brackets, rectangles and scalloped mats.  I cut the large arc using the WRMK circle cutter.
The flowers were originally a tag but I cut them out, shaped them, inked the edges and adhered with dimensional glue gel.  I added the glitter to the centres of the flowers and also to all the flowers on the patterned papers.
I created the swirls by just dotting some glue and covering with glitter.
I also altered the chipboard letters.  These were, originally, much paler in colour.  I couldn't resist glittering them up too!!
Ciao for now.

Rapunzel/Princess tower birthday card

Hello folks.  It's been really fun hopping around in blogland and catching with you.  I have especially enjoyed looking at your 'year in review' posts where you share your favourites.  So much crafty talent out there.  I thought I'd share this card I made to showcase Joanna Sheen's 'Country House' stamp set.  I used one of the small stone work stamps on the tower.
I cut the tower itself on my Cricut.  All of the layers were cut in white and I coloured the shades of grey with alcohol markers.  I die cut the flowers (an old 'Little Claire's' die) from red cardstock and added Martha Stewart garnet glitter. The tiny leaves are punched using my Pinflair Multi-punch.
I plaited some yellow yarn and positioned it on the card using dimensional glue gel.  The sentiment was printed out on my Xyron Design runner and I hand cut the banner shape.  Then was then shaped and adhered with more dimensional glue gel.  I added the tiny red ribbon as a finishing touch.
Ciao for now!

HaPpY NeW YeAr!!!!

Hello to everyone in blogland.  I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year!  Here's a little 4.5x4.5 inch card that I made for the Joanna Sheen Challenge.  The theme this month is 'Celebrations' and, I thought, what better celebration for January than 'Happy New Year'.  There are some fab prizes to be had this month, all the details are here.  Do hop over to check out the weekly candy too and, of course, the fabulous creations from my fellow teamies.
I wanted to create a colourful, bright and fun card.  The backing paper is from my scrap mountain, I think it was DCWV.  I coloured the cute image with alcohol markers.  I coloured the steamers with MS glitters and the wine glasses with glossy accents.
I coloured the ribbon with alcohol markers to colour match with the design.  I finished the design by popping on some black gems to the corners.
Ciao for now!
